To help break down barriers to receiving counseling services, Opportunity for Hope has partnered with local school districts, county programs and other community partners to meet people where they are at.

To become a partner >

  • We know how hard it is to get kids to appointments. Parents have to take off work and kids miss valuable class time. To make it easier for our community youth to access care, Opportunity for Hope has partnered with the following school districts to provide School-Based Mental Health Counseling:

    • Stevens Point School District

    • Pittsville School District

    • Nekoosa School District

  • Consumers involved in Portage or Wood County CCS services can receive counseling services as part of their recovery plans. Community-based counseling allows these individuals to receive our services in their home or community.

  • Consumers that are enrolled with this long-term care provider can receive counseling services as part of their care plan.

  • Through a partnership with the Family Center and Opportunity for Hope, individuals who seek help through the Family Center can receive safe, confidential therapy services.

  • Yer Yang (MA, LPC-IT)

    MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL yyang@odcinc.com | 715-818-6450

My refugee family background has allowed me to see various intersectional impacts on an individual’s mental health which helped me develop a passion to help, give back, improve advocacy and accessibility for evidence-based mental health resources for marginalized individuals and communities. I graduated with my B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from the UW-Stout, where I had the privilege to reflect on my own mental health and observed the lack of knowledge about mental health with marginalized individuals and communities. I have ten years of working in various mental health-related jobs such as providing behavioral therapy to children with Autism, working with at-risk adolescent in group homes and afterschool programs, providing services to adults with disabilities to become independence in their homes, and working with domestic violence and sexual assault victims. This inspired me to pursue and graduate with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Family Institute at Northwestern University. My goal is to provide a safe psychoeducational space for multiculturalism and marginalized individuals and communities. I want to help my clients find their autonomy and strength by working through their own challenges and build positive coping skills. I have experience working with many populations with special interest in anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
