Passport to the Y

Participants with their passports.

ODC and the South Wood County YMCA have partnered for a new program, Passport to the Y.

This 8-week program is designed for ODC participants to learn more about their YMCA. The passport guides participants through weekly tasks, upon completion they receive a passport stamp from YMCA staff.

On their first visit, participants were registered, received their membership cards, toured the facility, and scheduled their wellness orientation for later in the week.

During upcoming visits they will be introduced to the aquatic center, gym activities, track, equipment and machines, and learn about the variety of fitness and nutrition classes. They will meet the YMCA staff, learn about YMCA volunteer opportunities and be encouraged to make connections with other members and staff.

After the first visit David, an ODC participant, stated with a big smile, “Boy I really enjoyed the tour of the YMCA. The new one is so nice. I can’t wait for the chance to take a dip in that pool!”

Thanks to the YMCA for this great partnership! Watch for upcoming posts as ODC participants progress through their 8-week program.
