Canales, Evenson, Whitehead and Friedrich join ODC Board

The Board recently elected Jim Canales, Sherry Evenson, Angel Whitehead and Barb Friedrich to the ODC Board of Directors.

Jim Canales is the retired CEO of Community Care of Central Wisconsin. Jim joins the board to stay connected to the community by supporting the work of local organizations and ODC. Jim was recently the Board President of The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin and currently serves on the board of the Green Circle and the Aldo Leopold Audubon Society. Jim is a longtime volunteer DJ at the UWSP radio station WWSP.

Sherry Evenson is Executive Director at Aspirus Riverview Foundation and previously held positions of System Director of Financial Clearance with Aspirus Inc. and Director of Patient Financial Services and Patient Accounts Coordinator at Riverview Hospital.

By joining the board, Sherry hopes to build new relationships, learn and grow, and offer her skills to positively support the work of making our community stronger.

Angel Whitehead has been the President of the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce for the past two years. Prior to that Angel worked in Marketing and Communications at the Portage County Business Council and Marketing and Operations at Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids.

Angel hopes to assist in furthering the mission of ODC. Angel is a member of Sunrise Rotary and Ignite Young Professionals, and serves on the Centergy Board and the Economic Development Roundtable.

Barb Friedrich is retired from the medical field and was most recently a physician recruiter for Central WI Radiologist. Barb is returning to the board after previously serving on the ODC board. Barb had a brother who was developmentally disabled; she wishes to work to make others with developmental disabilities enjoy the best life they can.
