Unfolding Art - A Great Trip

Stevens Point Day Services participants had the privilege of visiting the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum last week. Participants enjoyed the two Origami exhibits, “Above the Fold” and “Fauna Fold”, and the paper folding in metal exhibit, “Alchemy Folding”.  Bob was able to hold a piece of the origami folded paper. Bob, Travis and Aaron show how giant the bird’s wing made from cardboard are; they are about to take flight!

Later, Nicki found a bird friend made of rolled up magazine pages, and Bob and Bill were in a room where patrons of the museum can touch the sculptures. Bob was then able to run his hand over the braille that explains the bird sculpture in front of him. Travis was all smiles by the Koi Fish that were made from watercolor painted paper.

The group really enjoyed their visit. The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum is located in Wausau, WI and always has free admission. You can learn more at: www.lywam.org
